Earth Doctor / Climate Troubadour

At the End of the World

I’ll be waiting there for you                       Dmaj7  A+5  Am7  Adim
At a table just for two.                                Gmaj7    G#dim  E7
At the end of the world, I’ll be waiting.   D  B7  E7  Asus4
At the end of the world, I’ll be waiting    F#7  B7  E7  Asus4

In the moonlight, under the stars,
Cup of coffee and an old guitar.
At the end of the world, I’ll be waiting
There for you.                                                   Dmaj7  G Gm

And every time that I’ve come and gone,  Am D Am D D+
Every time that I got it wrong.                     Gmaj7 Am A#dm G/B
When you’re  working all the time,             E7
You just can’t see the love that’s shining.   A Bm  A7 A+5

Into that sunset, I’m gonna ride my mind,
Say amen,  then, go around again.
At the end of the world, I’ll be waiting
There for you.

Instrumental
When you’re working, all the time,                 E7
You just can’t see the love that’s shining.      A Bm  A7 A+5

In the moonlight, under the stars,
With a whole new attitude and an old guitar.
At the end of the world, I’ll be waiting.          D B7  E7 A
At the end of the world, I’ll be waiting           F#7  B7 E7 A
There for you!                                                      D  Gm   D —–

What’s it about? This is just a different sort of love song from a typical workaholic surgeon who got tagged out a little early due to a tremor, and has now had time to reflect and develop other interests, like climate education.

My Musical Scalpel website is mostly focused on “climate music,” but there are a few exceptions, like Remember Who, and 2020 Lullaby.

What do you think the end of the world looks like? The older I get, the more persuaded I am that there are still many adventures in store…
